Students Observe Architecture and Construction Methodologies in Motion

Located in Harrison, New York, Avalon Harrison is a multi-unit residential project consisting of three adjacent buildings with ground floor retail, below grade parking garage, and residential units above. This site borders the Metro-North Harrison Train Station on Halstead Avenue, and hosts the Metro North Parking facility, which creates a unique condition where the residential building wraps around the garage.

This project is currently under construction, offering the students the opportunity to observe architecture and construction methodologies in motion. Discussions involved the design of building systems, structural framing, architectural design and details, and construction strategies.
